The movie is based on Mallory’s version. It was released in 1981. It was directed by John Boorman. (We can see two actors who will be key actors in subsequent adaptations: Patrick Stewart and Liam Neeson).

The plot revolves around two women, the Christian queen and the Pagan witch. One of them will cause the death of all Arthur’s knights, the other will force them to improve.
