2D8 Guns and Dolls
The text is an excerpt from a novel entitled Funny You Don’t Look Like a Grandmother. It is about a grandmother, whose nickname is Goo-Goo. She bought a Barbie doll to her granddaughter, Debbie. Debbie’s mother went berserk because she reproached Goo-Goo with not being politically correct. She reacted like this because, when she was young, Goo-Goo had told her she was a girl, and it traumatized her.
Then, Goo-Goo offered a Minnie Mouse doll to her grandson/grandperson. The boy’s father went bananas. He reproached Goo-Goo with being politically correct. He reacted like that because she had let him play with her jewelry when he was a child. It took him years to recover.
Whatever she does, Goo-Goo is always wrong.
